Collection of guest at Airport or at a guest house within Windhoek . Windhoek is surrounded by mountains and we have to pass both the Eros Mountains and the Khomas Hochland Range. As we come through the mountains we drop down from the central plateau to grassy desert savannah. Our Accommodation is situated in Solitaire itself. On arrival we check into our lodge and get comfortable with the surrounding nature of the Namib Desert.
Early start to catch the soft light of the sunrise over the desert. After passing through Sesriem gate we continue towards Sossusvlei with distant sand dunes along both sides of the road. We will stop at the famous Dune 45. Those who feel fit may climb the dune and get a breathtaking view of the surrounding desert and dunes. After breakfast we will take a desert walk in the cool of the morning at Deadvlei , with the chance of seeing gemsboks, springboks, black-backed jackals and ostriches. As the day cools down in the afternoon we will go on a short excursion to Sesriem Canyon. On arrival at the lodge your guide address you on the way forward.
We should be back at our lodge by 3 O’clock , we will drive with an open jeep to the Namib Dune Camp. The Namib Dune Star Camp is located in the dunes of the Namib desert. The camp which has nine cabins offers an "out-in-the-desert" experience with luxurious amenities like a soft double bed which can be wheeled out if guests want to sleep on veranda and under the stars. Furthermore the large rooms have an en-suite bathroom with hot shower and a spacious deck.
Namibia is a country of contrasts. Today we will move from desert to sea. On our way we will cross the Tropic of Capricorn and traverse the Gaub and the Kuiseb passes, driving down to the dry river bed at the bottom of the Kuiseb Canyon before climbing up the other side, watching the spectacular desert landscape unfold before us. Having arrived at the coast, we will make a stop in Walvis Bay to enjoy the view of flamingos and other birds in the lagoons.
The rest of the day will be free with plenty of time to explore the town. Swakopmund is a very pleasant seaside town with lots of shops, a good stretch of beach (although the Atlantic is quite cold here) and an open-air curio market. There is also a very good museum and the Namibian National Marine Aquarium is located in Swakopmund. Alternatively, there are various optional activities that can be arranged. These include a boat-tour (with oysters and champagne!), scenic flights and micro-light flights over the desert, fishing trips (either from the beach or in a boat), quad-bike trips into the desert and over the sand dunes around Swakopmund, sandboarding, skydiving and many other activities. Your guide will discuss all the possible optional activities with you and offer to make pre-bookings in advance. (N.B. all extra activities in Swakopmund are subject to availability and are made at the client's own risk and expense). Dinner today is not included in the cost of the safari and will be at the client's own expense.
We depart Swakopmund after breakfast to the inland of Damaraland . Damaraland is one of the most scenic areas in Namibia , a huge, untamed, ruggedly beautiful region that offers the more traveler a more adventurous challenge. Here there are prehistoric water courses with open plains and grassland, massive granite koppies and deep gorges. The Twyfelfontein Country Lodge is located in the Huab valley in Namibia’s Kunene region (formerly known as Damaraland). The area, known as the Twyfelfontein Uibasen Conservancy, boasts various rock engravings and paintings. These are a silent testimony to the first hunter-gatherer and subsequent Khoi-San inhabitants of 6 000 years ago, who used the area as a place of worship and shaman rituals. There are 17 different sites of rock paintings, totalling 212 stone slabs.
Waking up with the smell of Good coffee and a great breakfast. We continue our journey to the famous part of Damaraland. Twyfelfontein , Twyfelfontein is a rocky site situated in the Kunene Region of north western Namibia . The site contains around 2,000 rock carving and the site is one of the largest and most important concentrations of rock art in Africa, and was proclaimed a National Monument in 1952. It is thought as many as 40 000 people a year now visit the site, making it one of the more popular tourist destinations in Namibia.
Damara Living Museum, close to Twyfelfontein, is the first traditional Damara project in Namibia and the only one of its kind. The possibility to experience the traditional Damara culture in this form exists nowhere else in Namibia or in the world. We will check in the first camp in the Etosha National Park. Okaukujo camp .
Today we will spend most of the day game driving. We will visit a number of waterholes and make a stop at the Etosha Pan, the “place of dry water”. The Pan is an extensive flat depression of about 5,000 km2. This great, white expanse is a place of shimmering mirages and seeing large herds of game in this setting makes Etosha a unique experience. We will stop at Halali middle camp to check in and enjoy the afternoon before driving out before sunset for a quick drive to the neighbor waterhole for game viewing.
We will continue our journey to the last camp within the Etosha National Park. He Namutoni camp. Namutoni is a restcamp on the edge of the Etosha pan in the Oshikoto Region in northern Namibia. It is one of the entrance gates to Etosha National Park. The most prominent structure at Namutoni is Fort Namutoni, built in 1896. It was originally a German Police post and, as part of the Red Line, a veterinary control point. The Red Line at that time extended to Okaukuejo in the west and Otjituuo in the east.[1] Later Namutoni was used to hold English prisoners in World War I. The original fort was destroyed in 1904 following the Battle of Namutoni and rebuilt a year or two later. Fort Namutoni was declared a National Monument in 1947 by the South West Africa Monuments Council.
Game viewing continuous with an early start. We will continue from Etosha National Park through the eastern gate. Our Journey will take us about 5/6 hours driving to the Lodge, base on the banks of the Okavango River .
The Nkwazi Lodge is situated 7kms East of the north-eastern Namibian town of Rundu. The lodge is set on the banks of the Okavango River, offering lovely views of the river. Nkwazi Lodge River Lodge is set in large grounds and visitors will often be welcomed by one of the friendly peacocks.
After breakfast we head to the Okavango Region, traveling through small town and village schools and village churches. The Okavango is widely believed to be the world's largest inland delta, it is not. In Africa alone there are two larger similar geological features: the Sudd on the Nile in South Sudan, and the Inner Niger Delta in Mali. On arrival and settling in, the guest will join a local guide on a Mokoro Trip. The Mokoro (also spelt makoro) is a type of canoe commonly used in the Okavango Delta; It is propelled through the shallow waters of the delta by standing in the stern and pushing with a pole, in the same manner as punting. Mokoro are traditionally made by digging out the trunk of a large straight tree, such as an ebony tree or Kigelia tree
After breakfast we drive from Namibia slowly head into the Botswana Chobe National Park. Chobe National Park, in northern Botswana, has one of the largest concentrations of game in Africa. By size, it is the third largest park in the country, after the Central Kalahari Game Reserve and the Gemsbok National Park, and is the most biologically diverse. It is also Botswana's first national park. On arrival guest can enjoy the rest of the day joining activities offered by the lodge.
After breakfast we will be visiting the Victoria Falls for the whole day. Victoria Falls, or Mosi-oa-Tunya (Tokaleya Tonga: The Smoke That Thunders), is a waterfall in southern Africa on the Zambezi River at the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe. It has been described by CNN as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the world. After spending the whole day at the falls we then will head back to our Accommodation and enjoy the sunset over the Namibian side of the Chobe River.
We depart Thebe Safari Lodge in the morning, right after breakfast and drive off to the world of Elephants. Settled between two of Botswana’s top attractions, the Okavango Delta and Chobe National Park, is a place where fine sand and massive elephants meet. The marriage of these creates a place where the two are brought together for those of us that seek adventure. This is a Lodge that combines the beauty of African nature and its wildlife, Elephant Sands. Guest can enjoy the rest of the day in the company of the African gentle Giants.
The fun lodge that is Planet Baobab is situated on the Ntwetwe Pan’s edge, on the Maun–Francistown road near Gweta Town, in Botswana.
Planet Baobab isn’t a new planet in our solar system – it must be one of the most original places you can stay at if you are visiting the Makgadikgadi Pans. This series of pans are the remains of what used to be a huge ancient inland ocean. The accommodation at Planet Baobab is truly original, reflecting the traditional building methods of the original inhabitants of the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans in Botswana.
From Gweta , we continue to Kalahari Desert . We will be visiting the Bushman and they will take us on a educational guided walk .The walk takes about an hour and focuses on the beauty of the culture and the knowledge carried from one generation to the next.
The ancestors of the hunter-gatherer Sān are thought to have been the first inhabitants of what is now Botswana and South Africa. The historical presence of the San in Botswana is particularly evident in northern Botswana's Tsodilo Hills region. In this area, stone tools and rock art paintings date back over 70,000 years and are by far the oldest known art. Sān were traditionally semi-nomadic, moving seasonally within certain defined areas based on the availability of resources such as water, game animals, and edible plants.
We drive off after breakfast towards the Mamuno Border back into Namibia. Our journey will take us to the first Rehabilitation Farm open in Namibia known as the Harnas Wildlife Foundation. Harnas. It is one of the few wildlife orphanages and medical centers in the world to take in abused, injured, and captured wild animals from Namibia, Botswana, and southern African nations, saving hundreds of animals per year. Its mission is to protect life; done through the responsible and effective management, regulation and understanding of the resources necessary for this task. On arrival guest can take the time to stroll around and get acquainted with all the animals in the surrounding.
The morning awaits us with thrill and excitement.Just after breakfast we take part in a wildlife feeding frenzy. Our morning feeding tour will take us 3 hours.
