Lighthouse Maritime Consultants (PTY) Ltd was founded in 2019.The company was established to service the needs of the International Group of Protection and Indemnity (P&I) Clubs in Namibia as a commercial correspondent. In addition providing maritime legal assistance services pertaining to the drafting of maritime legislation, maritime litigation assistance as expert witnesses and the management of maritime claims and disputes in Namibia. The company has a formidable team of a master mariners who specialises in Maritime Law, International Law of the Sea, Marine Resources Law, Carriage of Goods by Sea Law and certified in P&I Insurance and Loss Prevention by the North of England P&I Association to respond to maritime and P&I risks should such an event arise.
Walvis Bay is a port town on the coast of Namibia.
The Company is managed by Capt. EN Nashima a Master Mariner (SAMSA), who holds a National Diploma (Cum Laude) in Maritime Studies from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT); Master of Philosophy degree in Shipping Law from the University of Cape Town (UCT), whereby he specialized in Maritime Law, International Law of the Sea, Marine Resources Law and Carriage of Goods by Sea Law. He, in addition, attended a legislative drafting course with the University of Pretoria and holds a certificate in P&I Insurance and Loss Prevention (The North of England P&I Association) obtaining a Distinction. Capt. Nashima has over 15 years sea going experience in the offshore mining industry which includes 4 years in command as Captain. Capt. Nashima aims to positively assist ships/shipowners in finding ship shape solution(s) to Maritime and P&I concerns/challenges in Namibia.
