Duration / 8h00-12h30
Check-in is at 08h00 at our offices at the Walvis Bay Waterfront for a 40-minute drive around the bay to Pelican Point. Along the way we pass lagunes with abundant bird life, as well as pink lakes that are part of the Walvis Bay Saltworks. Kayaking is done under the guidance of an experienced kayaking guide. We remain fairly close to the shore and explore seals playing around the kayaks. With a bit of luck we may be joined by bottlenose dolphins and may spot even a whale or two in season.
The Pelican Point Peninsula with its resident Cape Fur Seal colonies, as well as the odd jackal, can be viewed from the sea. Conclude the morning’ exercise with a breakfast consisting of a variety of rolls, coffee and tea, as well as fresh Namibian oysters paired with crisp sparkling wine on the beach, while taking in the spectacular scenery. We depart the beach at around 11h30 for a leisurely drive back to Walvis bay, providing adequate opportunity for photography and bird spotting. We arrive back at the Waterfront at around 12h30.
